Sparks fly when a handsome cowboy and a strong-willed widow must work together, in this charming contemporary western romance from a national bestselling author — with a bonus story by Carly Bloom!

Rodeo cowboy Wes Harding left his family ranch after one reckless mistake cost his loved ones everything. But when his sister needs help, Wes agrees to come home and take the reins of their ranch’s big charity event. However, he didn’t plan for his distracting, stubborn co-hostess. One kiss with Thea throws his world off balance . . . and has Wes craving the family he’s never dared dreamed of.

Single mom Thea Davis doesn’t have time for an inexplicable, toe-curling attraction to Wes Harding—no matter how well he listens or how sweetly he treats her children. Her focus needs to be on holding her fragile family together. But the more time she spends with Wes, the more attached she—and her kids—become. With the week drawing to a close, can Wes convince her to give love a chance before she leaves Silverado Lake—and him—behind for good?

Includes the bonus novella It’s All About that Cowboy by Carly Bloom!

Review:

Hopeful, emotional, and charming!

One Night with a Cowboy is a delightfully heartwarming tale that sweeps you away to the beautiful mountains of Colorado and into the lives of Wes Harding, the rugged, hardworking bullfighter, and Thea Davies, the military widow and mother of two as they both learn together how to heal and move on from the guilt, grief, and regrets they harbour over their individual losses.

The writing is smooth and fluid. The characters are multi-layered, genuine, and considerate. And the plot is a sweet, engaging mix of tender moments, self-discovery, temptation, friendship, family, happiness, chemistry, and love.

One Night with a Cowboy is another adorable, addictive, compassionate addition to the Silverado Lake series by Richardson, and as always, after I finish any of her books, I’m already looking forward to reading whatever she publishes next.

Reena Manji doesn’t love her career, her single status, and most of all, her family inserting themselves into every detail of her life. But when caring for her precious sourdough starters, Reena can drown it all out. At least until her father moves his newest employee across the hall–with hopes that Reena will marry him.

But Nadim’s not like the other Muslim bachelors-du-jour that her parents have dug up. If the Captain America body and the British accent weren’t enough, the man appears to love eating her bread creations as much as she loves making them. She sure as hell would never marry a man who works for her father, but friendship with a neighbor is okay, right? And when Reena’s career takes a nosedive, Nadim happily agrees to fake an engagement so they can enter a couples video cooking contest to win the artisan bread course of her dreams.

As cooking at home together brings them closer, things turn physical, but Reena isn’t worried. She knows Nadim is keeping secrets, but it’s fine— secrets are always on the menu where her family is concerned. And her heart is protected… she’s not marrying the man. But even secrets kept for self preservation have a way of getting out, especially when meddling parents and gossiping families are involved.

Review:

Sweet, humorous, and sassy!

Accidentally Engaged is a fresh, flirty, heartwarming tale that takes you into the life of Reena Manji, a hardworking, young woman of Indian heritage who endeavours to do whatever it takes to change all aspects of her humdrum life, including faking an engagement with the man her parents have promised her to and whom she refuses to marry in order to enter a coveted cooking show contest specifically for couples.

The prose is heartfelt and light. The characters are kind, supportive, and eccentric. And the plot is a push-pull tale of familial responsibility, intrusive parents, witty banter, tender moments, goals, expectations, secrets, friendship, chemistry, introspection, honesty, and love.

Overall, Accidentally Engaged has everything you look for in a rom-com as well as the added bonus of a touch of culture, traditions, weighty issues, and delectable goodies. I enjoyed every delicious minute that had me smiling, laughing, and definitely making too much homemade bread.

Darcy may not believe that he really intends to quit the bull riding circuit and stick around this time but Jason vows—with the help of the matchmaking Widows Club—to pull out all the stops to convince her that they both deserve a second chance.

Review:

Cosy, uplifting, and sentimental!

Dream a Little Dream sweeps you away to the small town of Sunshine Valley and into the life of Darcy Jones Harper, a young woman struggling to overcome her family’s reputation as well as her own feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness, and Jason Petrie, a professional bull rider who seems to finally be ready to move on and focus on a future that includes settling down and having a family of his own.

The writing is light and sweet. The characters are kind, supportive and endearing. And the plot is an optimistic, humorous tale about life, love, loss, family, friendship, self-reflection, forgiveness, contentment, community, romance, and finding one’s true self.

Overall, Dream a Little Dream is a cute, heartwarming, funny tale with dabs of heartfelt moments that I really enjoyed. It’s the perfect addition to the Sunshine Valley series, and I can’t wait to read more.

A NYT bestselling author kicks off a new Regency series of “irresistible romance and a family of delightful scoundrels” as a woman looking to recover a stolen painting accidentally kidnaps a duke instead. (Eloisa James)

Chloe Wynchester is completely forgettable—a curse that gives her the ability to blend into any crowd. When the only father she’s ever known makes a dying wish for his adopted family of orphans to recover a missing painting, she’s the first one her siblings turn to for stealing it back. No one expects that in doing so, she’ll also abduct a handsome duke.

Lawrence Gosling, the Duke of Faircliffe, is tortured by his father’s mistakes. To repair his estate’s ruined reputation, he must wed a highborn heiress. Yet when he finds himself in a carriage being driven hell-for-leather down the cobblestone streets of London by a beautiful woman who refuses to heed his commands, he fears his heart is hers. But how can he sacrifice his family’s legacy to follow true love?

Review:

Humorous, passionate, and fabulously entertaining!

The Duke Heist is a heartwarming, playful romp that sweeps you away to London during 1817 and into the life of Chloe Wynchester, a clever pickpocket who is determined to reclaim a family painting stolen by the late Duke of Faircliffe at any cost, even if it means befriending the handsome, newly appointed Duke of Faircliffe, Lawrence Gosling who is in the process of securing a wealthy bride to save his inherited dukedom from financial ruin.

The prose is amusing and light. The characters are unique, intelligent, and a wee bit zany. And the plot is a delightfully enchanting tale full of family, friendship, societal expectations, scheming behaviour, tricky situations, desire, and steamy romance.

Overall, The Duke Heist is an enticing, swoon-worthy, outrageously funny read by Ridley that hands down has some of the best characters I’ve ever read about in a historical romance novel. They’re a talented, eccentric, compassionate group of misfits you can’t help but root for, and I am super excited to read about all the hijinks this family of scoundrels gets up to next.

In this romantic adventure, anything is paws-ible when a single shop owner makes a connection with her new vet.

Boutique owner Sophie Daniels certainly isn’t looking to adopt a dog the day veterinarian Chase Lewis convinces her to take in Comet. A rambunctious puppy with a broken leg may not be the best choice for a first-time pet owner. And house calls from the handsome doctor—her high school sweetheart who’s just moved back to Sweetwater Springs—may not be the best choice for her heart either.

Chase has come home to help his nephew but finds that he’s forgotten just how much he enjoys small-town life. However, sooner or later, he’s going to have to face the past and his unresolved feelings for Sophie. Now that Comet needs both their help, Chase is going to let the four-legged matchmaker work his canine magic. Then Chase will prove to Sophie that first love is even better the second time around.

Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Lavender Hill!

Review:

Hopeful, enchanting, and sweetly romantic!

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a heartfelt, adorable, second-chance romance that features the kindhearted, scarred Sophie and the handsome, dependable Chase as they navigate a relationship that includes undeniable chemistry, a devastating accident in the past, a relationship that ended badly, and an irresistible, four-legged, furry friend.

The writing is cosy and light. The characters are generous, hesitant, and endearing. And the plot is a compelling combination of family, friendship, community, generosity, tender moments, and swoon-worthy romance.

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is another playful, emotional, charming read by Rains, and even though it’s a little sad to say goodbye to all the characters we’ve come to know and love over the past seven novels, it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to indulge in all the romance, adventure, mishaps, and love that’s gone on in Sweetwater Springs over the entire series, and I can’t wait to be swept away to Somerset Lake when the new series kicks off later this spring.

But in no time she’s in over her head with a hot architect, a new puppy and a shot at buying her dream inn. And the harder she tries to stay afloat in her new normal, the harder it is to hold onto her friendship with Jill who seems to be ebbing away.

While her best friend is living her best life, art boutique owner, Jill, is simply trying to live. Still struggling after a freak motorcycle accident took the life of her husband, Jill doesn’t know how to start over — or if she even wants to. Life isn’t easy as a young widow, especially when she’s hiding a painful secret. But when she learns that the fairytale Maine cottage she’d once dreamed of buying with her husband is on the market, she has to decide whether she’s ready to let go of the past and to write a new chapter. But the only way to do really heal is by revealing to Bree a truth that will either destroy their friendship forever or bring them closer together.

Review:

Tender, hopeful, and cosy!

Friends Like Us is a beautifully written, uplifting tale set in the small-town of Cranberry Cove that takes us into the lives of Bree Rhodes, a young woman who after recently having a cancer scare decides to create an anti-bucket list to help her step out of her mundane life and take some chances, and Jill Kelly, a young widow still struggling with the loss of her husband and the all-consuming grief that is preventing her from moving on.

The prose is light and witty. The characters are sweet, attentive, and sympathetic. And the plot is a delightful, heartfelt mix of friendship, family, introspection, support, forgiveness, love, loss, drama, community, new beginnings, and the power of friendship.

Overall, Friends Like Us is a funny, absorbing, compassionate tale by Mackenzie with an abundance of irresistible characters and a storyline I couldn’t get enough of. I really enjoyed the first novel in the Cranberry Cove series, Forever Friends, but I absolutely adored this one.

Review:

Sassy, lighthearted, and amusing!

The Heart of a Texas Cowboy is a compilation of two novels, Going Cowboy Crazy and Make Mine a Bad Boy.

Going Cowboy Crazy is a sweet, spirited tale that takes us into the life of the quiet, reserved, Faith Aldridge as she gets a little more than she bargained for when she heads west to find the twin sister she never knew she had in a town convinced she’s their homecoming queen finally returning home, and the local football hero turned coach, Slate Calhoun, is a little too sexy and hard to ignore.

Make Mine a Cowboy is a fun-loving, heartwarming tale that takes you back to Bramble, Texas and into the life of the feisty, Hope Scroggs as she struggles with the failure of her Hollywood career, a new twin sister who stole her high school sweetheart, and the realization that the annoying bad boy, biker turned custom motorcycle shop owner, Colt Lomax may actually own her heart.

The writing is playful and witty. The characters are quirky, spirited, and likeable. And the plots unfold nicely giving you a good dose of small-town West Texas charm, steamy tension, sizzling chemistry, humorous mishaps, tender moments, community, friendship, family, and love.

Overall, The Heart of a Texas Cowboy is a spicy, entertaining, enjoyable compilation by Lane that’s a great way to kick-start the Deep in the Heart of Texas series.

Based on the true story behind a landmark U.S. Supreme Court Decision, K.D. Alden’s debut is a rich and moving story of one woman’s courage and strength at a pivotal point in America’s history.

Virginia, 1927. A chance to have a family. That’s all Ruth Ann Riley wants. But because she was unwed and pregnant, she was sent away and her baby given to another woman. Now they’re trying to take Ruth Ann’s right to have another child. But she can’t stand the thought of never seeing little Annabel’s face again, never snuggling up to her warmth or watching her blue eyes crinkle with laughter. Good thing she has a plan.

All the rich and fancy folks may call her feeble-minded, but Ruth Ann is smarter than any of them have bargained for. Because no matter how high the odds are stacked against her, she is going to overcome the scandals in her past and get her child back—and along the way, she just may find unexpected friendships and the possibility of love in the most unlikely of places.

Review:

Heartwrenching, insightful, and incredibly absorbing!

A Mother’s Promise is a poignant, compelling tale that sweeps you away to the Virginia State Colony for Epileptics and Feebleminded during 1927 and delves into the daily lives, anxiety and true horrors experienced by those young women and men deemed unfit to procreate and thus denied parental rights of any children they may already have had and in turn also forcibly sterilized.

The prose is eloquent and expressive. The characters are genuine, sympathetic, vulnerable, and lovable. And the plot is a beautifully written, poignant tale about life, loss, love, heartbreak, courage, hope, manipulation, power, corruption, ethics, morality, motherhood, and the unconscionable theory of eugenics.

Overall, A Mother’s Promise is an emotional, heartbreaking, masterfully woven tale by Alden that immerses you so thoroughly into the lives, feelings, and personalities of the characters you never want it to end. It is without a doubt going to be one of my favourite novels of the year and it really shouldn’t be missed.

A fake engagement becomes the real thing in the next book in the series New York Times bestselling author Grace Burrowes calls “first-rate Regency fun!”

Lady Clara Ashford’s world changed fifteen years ago at the hands of a rogue who took her innocence. Determined never to give into temptation again, she settles into a life as caregiver for her family. With her younger sister recently engaged and about to embark on a life of her own, Clara feels adrift and without purpose―until Quincy, the new Duke of Reigate, arrives on her doorstep in need of a fake fiancée.

But as they pretend for the ton, Quincy finds himself falling for real. Now, he just has to convince Lady Clara to take a chance on him.

Review:

Warm, scandalous, and seductive!

Someday My Duke Will Come is set in England during 1818 and features the laidback, newly-appointed Duke of Reigate, Quincy Nesbitt and the sweet, kind, Lady Clara Ashford as they navigate a fake engagement, a meddling mother, histories strife with heartache, a newly acquired dukedom impoverished due to mismanagement, and a sizzling attraction that’s hard to deny.

The prose is light and amusing. The characters are tentative, passionate, and supportive. And the plot is an engaging mix of familial drama, redemption, desire, manipulation, shame, matchmaking, scheming behaviour, and steamy romance.

Overall, Someday My Duke Will Come is a fun, easy, swoon-worthy read by Britton that I can honestly say is quickly becoming one of my favourite historical romance series.

In this steamy, addictive contemporary romance spinning off the New York Times bestselling Dream Man and Rock Chick series, Ryn Jansen must put her trust in the one man she wants — and the one man she can’t let herself have.

Ryn Jansen has no interest in taking a risk on Boone Sadler. Thanks to a long list of men who’ve done nothing but let her down, Ryn vows to stay far away from the caring, protective commando. And when Boone confronts Ryn with evidence that her loved ones are conning her, Ryn is less than thrilled — with her family and Boone. But even as Boone proves he’s the kind of guy to meet her every need, she doesn’t trust him to stay when life gets hard . . .

Boone Sadler’s never been one to back down from a challenge. He’s determined to show the funny, sexy Ryn that the irresistible connection between them is worth exploring. But caring for Ryn’s heart and body becomes a matter of life and death when Ryn’s beloved niece and nephew are put in danger and dirty cops begin gunning for Ryn. Soon Boone realizes their romance is in danger of more than heartbreak — and to have any future together, they’ll have to put their trust in each other.

Review:

Action-packed, alluring, and risqué!

Dream Chaser is a fervid, edgy tale that features the busy, chaotic stripper, Ryn who finds herself the next one on Lotties’s list to be set up, but between her dysfunctional extended family and her recent association with the criminal on the run, Cisco, she has no time to start a relationship with the macho, black ops commando, Boone who may not only be the perfect protector out of the bedroom but the Dom she needs in it.

The writing is passionate and enticing. The characters are strong-willed, vulnerable, and kind. And the plot, including all the subplots, is a fevered blend of friendship, familial drama, sisterhood, chaos, dangerous situations, sizzling attraction, romance, a little BDSM, and a lot of dirty talk.

Overall, Dream Chaser is a tantalizing, dramatic, sexy addition to the Dream Team series by Ashley that has all the elements you look for in a romantic suspense tale with its heat, danger, sexual tension, and happy-ever-after ending.

About Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
