Sweet, touching, and romantic!

Unexpected is an adorable, lively tale that introduces us to the gamer and planner extraordinaire Abby who just discovered her dream to become a mother needs to occur sooner rather than later, and her commitment-phobic, best friend Marcus who is more than willing to help out the girl he’s secretly in love with as long as in the end he can have it all.

The prose is witty and warm. The characters are fun-loving, hesitant, and engaging. And the plot is a playful mix of push-pull drama, chemistry, flirty banter, palpable attraction, tender moments, and steamy baby-making.

Overall, Unexpected is a contemporary, charming, entertaining tale that has just the right amount of emotion, angst, and passion to make this an easy, lighthearted, enjoyable read.

The prose is effortless and smooth. The characters are genuine, supportive, reliable, and compassionate. And the plot, written in a back and forth, past/present style captivates and enchants as it sweeps you along a tale of love, loss, family, courage, coming-of-age, community, happiness, and unconditional friendship.

With The Little Teashop on Main Thomas has written a tender, heartfelt, beautiful story about female friendships that is incredibly moving and has taken what started as a good series with Mornings on Main and turned it into a spectacular one.

The Daughter’s Tale is a gripping, moving story set predominantly in Germany and France during WWII, as well as present-day New York City, that follows the lives of the Sternbergs, a young Jewish family who at a time of horrific persecution and extreme brutality are forced to make unimaginable choices and heartwrenching sacrifices to keep those they love safe.

The prose is perceptive and descriptive. The characters are anguished, courageous, and resilient. And the plot using a past/present style unfolds chronologically into a tale of life, love, loss, family, friendship, injustice, guilt, self-identity, ancestry, war, bravery, and survival.

Overall, The Daughter’s Tale is a hauntingly tragic, insightful, heartrending tale that highlights the inconceivable hardships, suffering, and horrors endured during a heinous time in history and reminds us of the incredible power of familial bonds.

Normal People is a character-driven, classic, coming-of-age story involving the clever, wealthy Marianne and the intelligent, working-class Connell as they embark on an enduring love affair littered with misunderstandings, betrayals, overreactions, and, ultimately, broken hearts.

The prose is evocative and controlled. The characters, including the damaged, lonely protagonists, are young, innocent, and vulnerable. And the tightly crafted, witty plot unfolds chronologically seamlessly unravelling all the motivations, actions, personalities, desires, needs, and complex relationships within it.

Overall, Normal People is a sensitive, adept, passionate tale that does a remarkable job of highlighting all the universal struggles of growing up, acquiring self-confidence, forging friendships, experiencing love and lust for the first time, and feeling entitled to be loved.

The prose is smooth and fluid. The characters are engaging, scarred, well-drawn, and endearing. And the plot is an affecting tale full of family, secrets, abuse, deception, hilarious hijinks, witty banter, palpable chemistry, steamy romance, as well as a little insight into the limitations, deficiencies, maltreatment, neglect, and odd success story of the foster care system.

Overall, Hot Texas Sunrise is a warm, charming, entertaining read that I feel has just the right amount of emotion, angst, drama, passion, and cowboys to make this an excellent choice for those who love contemporary, western romance.

Unnerving, atmospheric, and insightful!

The Glovemaker is an immersive tale that sweeps you away to the harsh territory of canyon country, Southern Utah during the late 1880s when the strict rules and practice of polygamy by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prompted even some of their most faithful followers to drift away to remote areas and create new, smaller communities of their own.

The prose is concise and expressive. The characters are hardy, resourceful, isolated, and tormented. And the plot, with an underlying current of dread, is a suspenseful, emotional filled tale of family, faith, loss, love, secrets, persecution, determination, morality, community, and violence.

Overall, The Glovemaker is a beautifully written, powerful, unique story, and even though there is not much known about these small groups of Mormon nonconformists, Weisberger has done a remarkable job of taking the barest of historical facts and surrounding them with fiction that is richly described, mysterious, believable, and exceptionally fascinating.

Pensive, uplifting, and delightfully addictive!

One Summer in Paris is a heartwarming, compelling tale that takes you on a journey to the magical City of Lights and into the lives of the middle-aged, newly single Grace and the young, unsettled Audrey as they discover together the importance of taking chances, accepting change, embracing the future, and finding contentment.

The prose is amusing and polished. The characters are complex, quirky, authentic, and endearing. And the plot is a beguiling story about life, loss, family, determination, kindness, forgiveness, self-discovery, happiness, romance, and the true value of friendship.

Overall, I would have to say that One Summer in Paris is thoughtful, emotive, and charming and with its rich characterization and beautiful storyline, it’s another stunning example of why Sarah Morgan is one of my all-time favourite authors.

Informative, fascinating, and emotive!

At the Mountain’s Edge is an engaging tale set in Northern Canada during the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1800s when the prospect of fame and immeasurable wealth had thousands navigating the treacherous Chilkoot Pass in hopes of reaching the prosperous and bustling Dawson City.

The prose is evocative and fluid. The characters are scarred, driven, and resilient. And the compelling, well-paced plot is an adventurous journey filled with familial drama, heartbreak, loss, love, courage, self-discovery, hope, solace, romance, and survival that is told from two perspectives. Liza, a resourceful, hardworking young woman struggling to persevere in a city continually ravaged by nature and predominantly populated by men, and Ben, a North-West Mounted Police constable whose loyal, kind, and helpful, but continuously plagued by a troubled and violent past.

The writing is well turned and fluid. The characters are flawed, lovable, and genuine. And the plot is a heartfelt, alluring tale of heartache, loss, grief, guilt, hope, friendship, family, forgiveness, courage, community, second-chance romance, and the healing power of animals.

Overall, Finding Hope at Hillside Farm is more than I ever expected. It’s an effortless, uplifting, beautiful tale by Lucas that reminds us that life is truly precious and should always be lived to the fullest.
