A Very Merry Match is a winsome, uplifting, wintery story that takes you into the lives of two main characters, Mary Margaret Sneed, a young, kindergarten teacher with a boatload of debt and some very intriguing side gigs, and the divorced, local golden boy, Kevin Hadley who is focused on raising his five-year-old son and has his sights set on political advancement.

The prose is witty and light. The characters are multilayered, endearing, and quirky. And the plot is an engaging tale of tender moments, humorous hijinks, self-discovery, friendship, family, community, happiness, love, a dab of mystery, and a little Christmas cheer!

Overall, A Very Merry Match is a quaint, charming, enjoyable, holiday read that will have you dreaming of snowflakes, hot chocolate, and some very scrumptious treats!

Christmas on Reindeer Road is a charming, tender tale that takes us back to Highland Falls and into the life of the determined, kindhearted Mallory Maitland as she meanders through all sorts of highs and lows, from losing her husband, fighting for custody of her two stepsons, moving to a new town, starting a new job, and fighting the undeniable attraction she feels for her neighbour, the widowed chief of police, Gabriel Buchanan, who’s busy single-handedly raising three boys of his own.

The prose is light and smooth. The characters are focused, supportive, and compassionate. And the plot is an alluring tale about loss, life, love, family, friendship, community, parenthood, romance, wintery shenanigans, self-discovery, taking chances, and moving on.

Overall, Christmas on Reindeer Road is an amusing, uplifting, entertaining tale by Mason that is perfect for anyone who enjoys a holiday romance that is not only heartfelt but also exceptionally cute and funny.

The writing is effortless and polished. The characterization is spot on with a whole slew of characters that are multi-layered, genuine, compassionate, and endearing. And the plot, including all the subplots, skillfully intertwines and unravels into a delightfully touching tale about life, love, loss, marriage, parenthood, family, secrets, friendship, happiness, self-discovery, romance, and the special bonds between sisters.

Evocative, rich, and absorbing!

The Paris Secret is an alluring, highly affecting tale predominantly set in England during WWII, as well as 2012, that takes you into the lives of two main characters; Skye Penrose, a young flier who through grit and determination becomes one of the first woman pilots for the Air Transport Auxillary during the war; and Kat Jourdan, a young fashion conservator who unwittingly unravels a family history littered with secrets, heartbreak, and heroism when she stumbles across a closet full of vintage Dior dresses in her mother’s Cornwall cottage.

The prose is charged and emotive. The characters are courageous, multilayered, and strong. And the plot, including all the subplots, unravel and intertwine seamlessly into a sublime saga of life, loss, family, tragedy, expectations, sacrifice, secrets, self-discovery, friendship, enduring love, fashion, and an insightful look at the important roles and contributions that women had and made during the war.

Overall, The Paris Secret is an exceptionally atmospheric, beautifully written, impactful novel that sweeps you away to another time and place and immerses you into the lives of such enticing characters you can’t help but be thoroughly moved and engrossed. It is no surprise that Natasha Lester has quickly become one of my all-time favourite authors with The Paris Orphan being one of my must-read novels for 2019 and now The Paris Secret being on the top of that list for 2020.

Make Mine a Cowboy is a heartwarming, fun-loving tale that takes you to Meadow Valley, CA and into the life of the compassionate, hardworking Charlotte North as she juggles a grandmother in need of assistance, a rewarding career back in New York, and a cowboy who’s slowly stealing her heart.

The writing is playful and tender. The characters are helpful, supportive, and loveable. And the plot is a delightful blend of heart, humour, family, friendship, introspection, attraction, community spirit, shameless flirting, romantic moments, and steamy chemistry.

Overall, Make Mine a Cowboy is a sweet, entertaining, effortless tale by Pine that’s the second novel in the Meadow Valley series but can certainly be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Overall, Sorry not Sorry is an easy, engaging, entertaining read by Ranald that’s bursting with female friendships, self-discovery, and a sliver of romance.

A Cowboy for Keeps is a sweet, heartfelt story that takes you into the lives of Lorelei West and Reese St. James, two strangers who come from completely different backgrounds who must learn to cope with the loss of a sibling, their surprising new status as potential guardians to a child they never knew existed, and a budding relationship that will require a lot of trust and understanding.

The writing is passionate and tender. The characters are multilayered, stubborn, and reliable. And the plot told from two different points of view unravels nicely into a tale about life, loss, grief, responsibility, friendship, family, compromise, parenthood, happiness, and the importance of communication.

A Cowboy for Keeps is the third novel in the Chestnut Creek series, and once again Drake has written a heartwarming, satisfying, engaging, western romance that’s brimming with hope, heat, and heartache.

Captivating, mysterious, and cunning!

My Name is Eva is an intense, affecting tale that immerses you into the life of Evelyn Taylor-Clarke as she spends her final days remembering loves lost, sacrifices made, and secrets long buried.

The prose is descriptive and insightful. The characters are anguished, resilient, and clever. And the plot using a past-present, back-and-forth style and using a unique mixture of narrative, letters, and crosswords unravels quickly into a tale of life, love, loss, family, friendship, injustice, guilt, self-identity, war, bravery, and survival.

Overall, My Name is Eva is a compelling, touching, haunting debut by Goldring that highlights the inconceivable hardships, suffering, and horrors endured during wartime and reminds us that revenge is always best served cold.

Review:

Impassioned, engaging, and romantic!

A Good Duke is Hard to Find is set on the idyllic Isle of Synne during 1817 and features the handsome, bitter Peter Ashford, the heir to the Dane dukedom, who is bound and determined to revenge the man he holds responsible for his mother’s death until he meets the kind, disheartened Lenora Hartley, a young woman with heartache and troubles of her own.

The prose is light and authentic. The characters are intelligent, unsettled, and warm. And the plot is a push-pull blend of Regency lifestyle, familial expectations, palpable attraction, undeniable chemistry, desire, friendship, heartbreak, and steamy romance.

Overall, A Good Duke is Hard to Find is an entertaining, passionate, delightful read by Britton that may be the first novel I’ve read by this author but definitely won’t be my last.
