She can trust him with her heart, but can she trust him with her life?

Growing up as a foster kid, Jessica Jensen found her escape in movies-especially those starring teen heartthrob Reece Winchester. When she meets him as an adult, he’s just as charming, fascinating, and devastatingly handsome as she’d imagined. Before she knows it, Jessica is falling hard. But her real-life Cinderella story is about to take a deadly turn…

Jessica has completely upended everything about Reece’s carefully ordered life. There’s a reason he’s never allowed anyone to get so close to him before. But now that she has, there’s a target on her back. Because someone knows that the Winchesters have been hiding some dark family secrets. Someone who is out there waiting to strike. Waiting…and always watching.

Previously published as Watching You.

Review:

Menacing, steamy, and alluring!

I’ll Be Watching You is a charged, passionate tale that takes you into the lives of two main characters. Jessica, an intelligent, young woman with a troubled past who seems to have become the target of a malicious killer, and Reece a Hollywood actor turned director with a checkered past of his own who’s determined to protect those he cares about at any cost.

The writing is crisp and sultry. The characters are secretive, committed, and resourceful. And the plot is a twisty, engaging mix of friendship, family, obsession, jealousy, instant attraction, smoking chemistry, smouldering tension, sexy times, and violence.

Overall, I’ll Be Watching You is an enticing, sensual, fast-paced tale by Kelly that has everything you look for in a romantic suspense novel and more.

From the New York Times bestselling author of One Last Time comes a breathtaking story about first love, second chances, and starting over.

Teagan Berkley is trying her best. A single mom raising a precocious teen, she may have given up on her dreams, but she’s accepted her life in her small beachside hometown. Now the one person who abandoned her when she needed him the most has returned, bringing back memories of what might have been.
Derek Hartz arrives in town with a teenage daughter – and he’s full of guilt over his failed marriage and the way he ended his friendship with Teagan. He’s determined to set things right with her, but first he needs to gain her trust. Something he’s not convinced he deserves.
As Teagan and Derek open up to each other-and confess their deepest secrets-it’s impossible for them to deny what’s always been between them. But just when their happily ever after is within reach, their complicated history surfaces again and threatens to keep them apart. Forever.

Review:

Uplifting, heartwarming, and romantic!

All I Ask is a delightfully charming, emotional novel set on Chincoteague Island, VA that takes us into the lives of two main characters; Teagan, a young mother who after falling pregnant in college has spent the last decade struggling to make ends meet, ignoring small-town gossip, and enduring the heartache of losing her best friend, and Derek, a loving father who after unexpectedly losing his wife returns home where ten years earlier he not only left behind his best friend but also his heart.

The writing is emotive and warm. The characterization is spot on with a cast of characters that are multilayered, brokenhearted, and endearing. And the plot is an irresistible blend of friendship, familial tension, heart, hope, grit, attraction, chemistry, miscommunication, tender moments, and enduring love.

Overall, All I Ask is a poignant, sweet, enchanting tale by Michaels that I absolutely devoured, highly recommend, and is without a doubt one of my favourite reads of the year!

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes an irresistible and suspenseful romance between a tough Texas Ranger and his first love–a woman in danger who insists she doesn’t need his protection.

Hill Gamble is a model lawman: cool and collected, with a confident swagger to boot. Too bad all that Texas charm hasn’t gotten him anywhere in his personal life, especially since the only girl he ever loved has always been off-limits. But then Hill is assigned to investigate her father’s mysterious death, and he’s forced back to the town–and the woman–he left behind.

When Hill left Loveless, he broke Kody Lawton’s already battered heart. And now that he’s working on her father’s case, avoiding him is impossible. She can handle Hill and her unwanted feelings–until he puts his life on the line to protect her. Suddenly, Kody realizes that Hill could be taken away from her…for good.

Review:

Tense, ominous, and passionate!

Unforgiven is a sultry, compelling tale that takes us back to Loveless, Texas and into the lives of the solid, dependable, Texas Ranger Hill Gamble who is struggling to solve the murder of Conrad Layton while still keeping his feelings for his late brother’s fiancee a secret, and the feisty, fiery Kody who’s determined more than ever to put her father to rest and keep her teen crush away from her heart.

The writing is smooth and seductive. The characters are hesitant, headstrong, and loyal. And the plot is a well-paced, alluring tale of temptation, desire, danger, deception, mystique, devotion, romance, palpable attraction, and sizzling chemistry.

Overall, Unforgiven is another provocative, intriguing, menacing addition to the Loveless, Texas series by Crownover that has just the right amount of steam and suspense to keep you engaged from start to finish and a cliffhanger ending that will leave you eager for more.

Fall in love with this heartwarming and heartbreaking novel perfect “for fans of Me Before You” (Next Magazine).

When Ava Green turns twenty-eight, she discovers this will be her last birthday. The cancer she thought she’d beaten three years ago is back, only now it’s terminal and she’s not going to waste any of the time she has left. All she truly wants is the one thing she’s been dreaming of since she was a little girl: a wedding. There’s only one problem. She doesn’t have a groom.

Ava’s friends and family rally around her to help throw the wedding of her dreams — without the husband-to-be. As word spreads on social media, the bridal planning goes viral, attracting the attention of a prominent women’s magazine. And when a photographer volunteers to help document the whole event, it becomes heartbreakingly clear that it’s never too late to discover the love of your life.

Review:

Poignant, pensive, and profoundly moving!

Photos of You is a beautifully written, emotional novel that takes you into the life of the young, twenty-eight-year-old Ava Green as she spends her last months of life reaping as much joy and pleasure out of each day, savouring all the little things, enjoying time with those she loves, doing the one thing in life that she’s always wanted, and falling in love for the first time.

The prose is eloquent and insightful. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are strong, compassionate, and endearing. And the plot is an absorbing, heart-wrenching tale of life, love, family, friendship, kindness, honesty, acceptance, generosity, romance, humour, introspection, and loss.

Overall, Photos of You is a moving, reflective, bittersweet tearjerker by Robinson that does a remarkable job of reminding us of what’s truly important in life and highlighting the sheer power of love.

Amusing, tender, and uplifting!

Perfect for fans of Susan Mallery and Jill Shalvis, two mothers — one pregnant, one sending her child to college — form an unlikely friendship, finding love, hope, and a new start at life in this charming, laugh-out-loud read.

Single mom Renee Rhodes seems like a woman who has it all together — perfect house, perfect kid, perfect yard. But now that her daughter is away at college, she doesn’t know what to do next. Without weekly PTA meetings and after-school chauffeur duty, Renee isn’t sure who she is anymore. What she is sure of is that she probably shouldn’t be crushing on her new boss, who couldn’t possibly be interested in a middle-aged mom….
Sadie Landry is drowning in the stay-at-home mom life. With a toddler running wild, a husband who is growing more distant by the day, and a mother-in-law who has a comment on every-little-thing, Sadie is one mommy-and-me class away from losing it. When she learns that she is pregnant again, Sadie knows that something has to change for the sake of her family — and her sanity.
After a birthday party bake-a-thon nearly turns into a three-alarm fire, Renee comes to her neighbor Sadie’s rescue with comfort, competence, and a killer pie recipe. With their unlikely friendship and a newly hatched plan to open a bakery, can Sadie and Renee finally have the lives they’ve always dreamed of?

Review:

Heartwarming, charming, and uplifting!

Overall, I would have to say that Forever Friends is an emotive, thoughtful, cosy read by Mackenzie that does a beautiful job of reminding us just how important, powerful, and meaningful female friendships can truly be.

She’s no Sleeping Beauty. And he’s definitely no prince . . . Margot McCleery could have lived her whole life without seeing Bentley Wellington again-her ex-best friend and the poster boy for Hot, Rich Man-Whores everywhere. But Margot’s whiskey-augmented grandmother “buys” Bentley at a charity bachelor auction, and now suddenly he’s at her door. Impossibly charming. Impossibly sexy. And still a complete and utter jackass. Bentley’s just been coerced by his grandfather to spend the next thirty days charming and romancing the reclusive red-haired beauty who hates him. The woman he abandoned when she needed him the most. Bentley knows just as much about romance as he knows about love-nothing. But the more time he spends with Margot, the more he realizes that “just friends” will never be enough. Now all he has to do is convince her to trust him with her heart . . .

Review:

Emotional, enchanting and sweetly romantic!

This is a second chance romance that combines the pompous, rich Bentley and the lonely, scarred Margot in a well-crafted plot full of entertaining hijinks, deep introspection, exquisite tension, palpable chemistry, sexy innuendoes and unconditional love.

The characters, including a whole slew of meddling supporting characters are intriguing, likeable, funny and well-developed.  And the writing use a past/present style to create an engaging, lighthearted tale about letting go, being brave and learning to trust that will definitely leaving you smiling by the end.

Once again Van Dyken has written a modern-day fairy tale that has a lot of heart and has the handsome prince not only bringing the beautiful princess back to life but finally getting the girl he let slip away.

This is the second book in the “Bachelors of Arizona” series and what a great series it is shaping up to be. If you haven’t had a chance to read my review for “The Bachelor Auction”, book #1 in the series, be sure to check it out HERE.
