The man lay on his front, his arms and legs bound and pulled up with a rope connecting the two. His head was arched back, so he faced the curtains, and there was masking tape over his mouth. Erika gingerly reached out and checked his pulse.

Yep. Dead all right.

When Detective Erika Foster finds politician Neville Lomas naked, hog-tied, and dead in his own bed, skittish higher-ups at the Met quickly rule the death from natural causes. Case closed . . . until two months later when a well-known casting director and a star footballer are found murdered and tied with the same knots. The Met can no longer ignore what’s staring them in the face: there’s a serial killer loose in London, and they’re out to settle a score.

As Erika and her team investigate, things take a strange turn as CCTV footage turns up five female suspects . . . and they’re all identical.

In the hunt to identify the women, Erika is outpaced at every turn by an elusive sex worker with dirt on enough powerful men to make the Met’s top brass nervous – and desperate.

As time ticks away until the killer strikes again, it’s up to Erika to untangle the web of evidence and answer the critical questions: What ties the victims together, who else is caught up in this scandal, and how far are the higher-ups willing to go to protect their own?

Gripping, tense and impossible to put down, Lethal Vengeance will have you on the edge of your seat, racing to the final dramatic page.

Review:

Relentless, intricate, and addictive!

Lethal Vengeance is an unnerving, action-packed thrill ride featuring the tenacious DCI Erika Foster and her loyal, hardworking team as they work together once again to hunt a cold, calculating female serial killer driven by a strong need for retribution and a penchant for rope and polaroid photos.

The writing is brisk and intense. The characters are meticulous, persistent, and impulsive. And the plot is a gripping, sinister whodunit full of twists, turns, lies, deception, revelations, obsession, depravity, abuse, violence, and murder.

Overall, Lethal Vengeance is an intricate, riveting, absorbing police procedural by an author, Robert Bryndza, who creates characters I can’t get enough of and juicy, disturbing stories that always suck me in and leave me shocked, surprised, highly entertained, and extremely satisfied. The Detective Erika Foster series is one of my all-time favourite series, and it has been and continues to be a must-read series for me since I stumbled across book one, The Girl in the Ice, way back in 2016.

Detective Erika Foster is back in FATAL WITNESS – with a chilling new serial killer case in Robert Bryndza’s multi-million bestselling crime thriller series!

How do you find a killer who has destroyed all the evidence?

Detective Erika Foster is on a late-night walk near her new house in Blackheath when she stumbles upon the brutal murder of Vicky Clarke, a true-crime podcaster.

Erika is assigned to the case and discovers that Vicky had been working on a new podcast episode about a sexual predator who preys on young female students around South London, staking out his victims in their halls of residence before breaking in at the dead of night. When Erika discovers that Vicky’s notes and sound recordings were stolen from her flat at the time of her murder, it leads her to believe that Vicky was close to unmasking the attacker, and she was killed to guarantee her silence.

The case takes on a disturbing twist when the body of a young Bulgarian student doctor is discovered in the same building, and this makes Erika question everything she thought she knew about Vicky. With very little evidence, the clock is ticking to find the killer before he strikes again.

Review:

Disturbing, dark, and exceptionally entertaining!

Fatal Witness is an unpredictable, sinuous thrill ride that takes us back to London, where Detective Erika Foster and her team now find themselves investigating the death of Vicky Clarke, a true-crime podcaster whose own investigation into a slew of sexual attacks on female students may have just made her the latest victim of a callous predator who is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his identity hidden forever.

The writing is bold and crisp. The characters are resilient, impulsive, and troubled. And the plot, including all the subplots, unravel and intertwine seamlessly into a sinister tale full of twists, turns, secrets, surprises, manipulation, coercion, deception, violence, and murder.

Overall, Fatal Witness is another riveting, spine-chilling, engrossing thriller by one of my favourite authors that kept me guessing from the very first page and left me unnerved, impressed, highly satisfied and eager to read whatever his devious mind manages to come up with next.

Review:

Astute, perilous, and chilling!

Deadly Secrets is an engrossing, edgy thriller that takes you on a hunt for a dangerous, sadistic, serial killer with a penchant for gas masks, sharp knives, dark corners, and no discernible victim type.

The writing is spine-tingling, vivid, and skillfully crafted. The characters are committed, persistent, and vulnerable. And the plot starts off with a bang and then quickly unravels into an ominous tale full of twists, turns, red herrings, secrets, lies, obsession, violence, murder, and mayhem.

Deadly Secrets is the sixth book in the Detective Erika Foster series, and once again Bryndza has written a highly suspenseful, intricately woven mystery with superb character development that gives the story a touch of human frailty and authenticity that takes it from just being a great novel to being absolute perfection!

Review:

Intricate, riveting, and creepy!

Cold Blood is an engrossing, chilling police procedural that highlights just how easily some people can be swayed and manipulated into doing the most horrific things and reminds us that desperate people will do almost anything, at any cost to protect themselves.

The writing is bold and crisp. The characters are resilient, impulsive, and troubled. And the plot, told from differing points-of-view, keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish as it whips you through well-timed twists, unforeseen surprises, deception, abuse, violence, corruption, and murder.

Overall, Cold Blood is a gripping, highly entertaining, harrowing thriller that proves once again Bryndza is a talented, natural storyteller with a vivid imagination.

Cold Blood is the fifth novel in the Erika Foster series and all I can say is if you’re not already reading this series, you should be!

Gripping, tense and impossible to put down, Last Breath will have you on the edge of your seat, racing to the final dramatic page.

Review:

Mesmerizing, dark and cleverly spine-chilling!

This is a skillfully crafted, perfectly executed thriller that takes us on a hunt for a sadistic serial killer and highlights how susceptible and vulnerable social media can make us.

The writing is seamless, vivid and fluid. The characterization is spot on with all the usual gang back including the tough, stubborn Erika Foster whose greatest struggles involve her inability to conform to authority and her apprehension at the growing intimacy with Peterson. And the plot involves a series of twists, turns, violence, murder and surprises that I guarantee will grab you from the very first page of the prologue.

Overall this book has an incredible pace and exceptional depth in both the storyline and character development. It’s riveting; it’s entertaining; and it’s a clear indicator that Bryndza has definitely hit his stride. If you love well written police procedurals with intriguing characters this is the book/series for you.

Beneath the water the body sank rapidly. She would lie still and undisturbed for many years but above her on dry land, the nightmare was just beginning.

The remains are quickly identified as seven-year-old Jessica Collins. The missing girl who made headline news twenty-six years ago.

As Erika tries to piece together new evidence with the old, she must dig deeper and find out more about the fractured Collins family and the original detective, Amanda Baker. A woman plagued by her failure to find Jessica. Erika soon realises this is going to be one of the most complex and demanding cases she has ever taken on.

From the million-copy bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice and The Night Stalker, comes the third heart-stopping book in the Detective Erika Foster series.

Review:

Brilliantly plotted, incredibly captivating, and definitely a must-read of 2016!

This is an intriguing thriller that explores the psychological devastation caused by a missing child and the resulting fragility and dynamics between family members, the police, and the community at large.

The writing is spot on. The characters are tenacious, intelligent, and multi-layered. And the plot is a suspenseful rollercoaster ride of murder, deception, secrets and deviance.

I have to say that in a time when mysteries seem to be churned out by the dozen and storylines seem to be getting rote, predictable, and a little lacklustre, Robert Bryndza is like a breath of fresh air. He creates characters we can’t get enough of and juicy, complex stories that suck you in and make you feel like you’re not only an observer but a participant. He truly writes with great depth and heart, and leaves you, as a reader, surprised, highly entertained, and extremely satisfied.

If the Night Stalker is watching, you’re already dead…

In the dead of a swelteringly hot summer’s night, Detective Erika Foster is called to a murder scene. The victim, a doctor, is found suffocated in bed. His wrists are bound and his eyes bulging through a clear plastic bag tied tight over his head.

A few days later, another victim is found dead, in exactly the same circumstances. As Erika and her team start digging deeper, they discover a calculated serial killer – stalking their victims before choosing the right moment to strike.

The victims are all single men, with very private lives. Why are their pasts shrouded in secrecy? And what links them to the killer?

As a heat wave descends upon London, Erika will do everything to stop the Night Stalker before the body count rises, even if it means risking her job. But the victims might not be the only ones being watched… Erika’s own life could be on the line.

Review:

Intense, suspenseful, and clever!

This is a compelling thriller that delves into the depth and despair associated with psychological and physical torment, and reminds us that you never really know what happens behind closed doors.

The characters are multi-layered, complex and creative. The story is well written, with multiple plots and great twists and turns that will keep you enthralled for hours.

This is a gripping page turner that is disturbingly real, and I highly recommend it.
