The writing is witty and light. The characters are quirky, dependable, and endearing. And the plot is a funny, engaging tale full of friendship, family, self-reflection, determination, independence, happiness, humorous mishaps, romantic moments, and an in-depth look into all the intricacies of craft beer making.

Overall, Probably the Best Kiss in the World is a passionate, delightfully heartwarming tale that reminds us that sometimes things happen for a reason and if we stay open-minded, and believe in ourselves anything is possible.

Heart-tugging, tender, and sincere!

Drawing Home is an uplifting, engaging tale that takes us to Sag Harbor and into the life of Emma Mapson as she juggles all sorts of highs and lows, including single motherhood, an unexpected inheritance left to her teenage daughter, an ex who suddenly reappears out of nowhere, and an elderly woman determined to contest the final wishes of her oldest friend.

The prose is immersive and expressive. The characters are well-drawn, troubled, likeable, and genuine. And the plot is a wonderful mix of life, loss, forgiveness, grief, love, familial drama, friendship, community, contentment, coming-of-age, and art.

Overall, Drawing Home is another lighthearted, beautiful, beach read by Brenner that mixes a side of mystery with her innate ability to delve into all the psychological and emotional entanglements found in nuclear families.

Unnerving, atmospheric, and insightful!

The Glovemaker is an immersive tale that sweeps you away to the harsh territory of canyon country, Southern Utah during the late 1880s when the strict rules and practice of polygamy by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prompted even some of their most faithful followers to drift away to remote areas and create new, smaller communities of their own.

The prose is concise and expressive. The characters are hardy, resourceful, isolated, and tormented. And the plot, with an underlying current of dread, is a suspenseful, emotional filled tale of family, faith, loss, love, secrets, persecution, determination, morality, community, and violence.

Overall, The Glovemaker is a beautifully written, powerful, unique story, and even though there is not much known about these small groups of Mormon nonconformists, Weisberger has done a remarkable job of taking the barest of historical facts and surrounding them with fiction that is richly described, mysterious, believable, and exceptionally fascinating.

Informative, fascinating, and emotive!

At the Mountain’s Edge is an engaging tale set in Northern Canada during the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1800s when the prospect of fame and immeasurable wealth had thousands navigating the treacherous Chilkoot Pass in hopes of reaching the prosperous and bustling Dawson City.

The prose is evocative and fluid. The characters are scarred, driven, and resilient. And the compelling, well-paced plot is an adventurous journey filled with familial drama, heartbreak, loss, love, courage, self-discovery, hope, solace, romance, and survival that is told from two perspectives. Liza, a resourceful, hardworking young woman struggling to persevere in a city continually ravaged by nature and predominantly populated by men, and Ben, a North-West Mounted Police constable whose loyal, kind, and helpful, but continuously plagued by a troubled and violent past.

Overall, At the Mountain’s Edge is an atmospheric, absorbing, well-written novel by Graham that showcases her incredible knowledge and passion for Canadian history and highlights the indomitable spirit of humanity to survive, endure, conquer, and love in even the harshest environments and situations.

Low Country Hero is a heartwarming, emotive tale that takes us to Safe Haven, South Carolina and into the lives of Anna George, a young mother on the run with two little girls, no money, and an abusive ex that won’t let her go that easily, and Sean O’Dwyer, a dependable, compassionate contractor whose past has left him not only burdened with guilt but determined to stay familyless.

The prose is smooth and fluid. The characters are scarred, kind, diligent, and wary. And the plot is an uplifting, feel-good tale with a sliver of suspense that’s full of touching moments, friendship, family, community, introspection, acceptance, support, special needs children, romance, love, and the devasting effects of domestic abuse.

Overall, Low Country Hero is a sweet surprise, and a real treat with its engaging storylines, intriguing characters, underlying thread of revelations to come, and reminder that kindness is incredibly powerful and that a true home is one in which you feel safe, loved, and happy.

Ominous, slick, and unnerving!

The Good Friend is a slow-burning, character-driven thriller that delves into just how much our relationships and friendships can define us and highlights just how parasitic and manipulative some of them can truly be.

The prose is edgy and tense. The characters are complex, deceptive, and vulnerable. And the plot builds steadily creating tension, suspicion, and unease as it unravels a sinister tale of friendship, love, secrets, lies, deception, jealousy, violence, and revenge.

Overall, I would have to say that The Good Friend is a brooding, malicious, atmospheric tale that kept me riveted from start to finish and had an ending that left me, in a good way, completely unsettled.

The writing is effortless and light. The characters are intriguing, supportive, and genuine. And the plot is an enchanting mix of friendship, family, light drama, awkward moments, tricky situations, swoon-worthy romance, and the endless ups and downs of dating.

Overall, The Secret to Falling in Love is a fresh, uplifting, timely tale by Cooke with some beautiful imagery and a storyline that will definitely leave you smiling.

Victoria Cooke grew up in the city of Manchester before crossing the Pennines in pursuit of a career in education. Action-packed, suspenseful, and steamy!

What Doesn’t Kill Her is the second novel in the Cape Charade series and once again we head back to the Pacific Northwest and into the life of Kellen Adams who is not only struggling to come to grips with a memory filled with holes and a daughter she never knew she had, but now finds herself the target of a vicious enemy driven by greed and a group of assassins sent to take what she’s been hired to protect.

The prose is sharp and tight. The characters are tenacious, unique, and amusing. And the plot is a compelling tale filled with twists, turns, familial drama, secrets, lies, danger, murder, sexual attraction, tension, and mayhem.

Overall, What Doesn’t Kill Her is another thrill ride by Dodd with a superb mix of suspense, romance, humour, and intriguing characters that have not only taken this series to a whole other level but left me impatient for more.
